Mike is genuinely interested in his students, taking a keen interest in their likes and always keeping up to date with what they are listening to. “I am 52 years old and I have wanted to learn to play the guitar for a long time. When my son gave me a loan of a guitar he had, I set about to find guitar lessons. That is when I came across Mike at guitarlessonscork, where he was about to set up a group for guitar lessons. I signed up and attended the ten week course.

There were four in the group which was just right for all who attended. Mike explained everything in simple details and also gave us our guitar folder and each week thereafter there was plenty of handouts, with chord shapes, songs and strumming patterns. I found each class very helpful and enjoyable and once I did my homework I found myself improving.

“I had been playing guitar for a short time before I got lessons from Mike. During the lesson-period, the progress I could see myself making was wonderful! He helped me really come to terms with the theory behind the guitar as I had come from a classically-trained-piano background. “I finally decided to get guitar lessons, its something that interested me for a long time. My friend and I got in contact with Mike as to be honest his rates were very reasonable. We were in a class of 5 people, a nice number for classes I think as you got good attention from Mike.

And yes, its hard to learn to play the guitar but Mike made it seem a bit easier! He had plenty of patience with us all and we always had a bit of a laugh there too. He is an excellent teacher of guitar and I would recommend him to anybody thinking of learning to play. Mike showed a great interest in everybody in the class and spent time at the start of each class asking how the past week has gone for people and would revisit any area you were having a problem with.

“Hi there, my name is Fergus. I found Mike’s website on the net last October as I was searching for guitar lessons for my 11 year old daughter. I contacted Mike and could not believe how helpful he was. He was so flexible and encouraging that I decided to have a go myself too.

My daughter and myself have now been doing lessons for the last 7 or 8 months and the lessons and experience is fantastic. We initially went to the lessons together and got a great deal. As time progressed, my daughter and myself found ourselves heading in slightly different directions with the guitar and started to do the lessons seperatly. Mike has offered that we can go back and do the lessons together at any time, if it suits.

Different to other “guitar lessons”, if you cannot make a lesson, you can pick another time, so you never lose out on a lesson and dont lose financially…………unless you give up completely……and once you meet Mike and start the lessons, this is highly unlikely.

I would recommend Mike’s lessons to anybody who has the slightest interest in learning to play guitar.” Fergus
